River Paintings

2017

This is the second year I worked on

plastic. I used both a portrait format as well as a landscape. The river was the bulk of my practice so I have the the most paintings in 2017 because I had not yet committed to a subject for the studio.  Many of these paintings are large.  I had the ambition to drag a big board covered in Mylar to the river. This big chunk of cardboard covered in shiny plastic tended to draw attention from both humans and wildlife.

This is the year that I wanted to create a watercolour effect which I managed to pull off occasionally. I stayed with my Acrylics and worked on creating a more delicate formula for the paint mixture.
